WAD OF THE MONTH FOR DECEMBER |
Welcome to December's Wad of the Month. DudMatch is a special deathmatch wad built for zdoom. Cyberdud14 has created two other deathmatch maps called DmRun and CoolDm. He can be found on Doomserv, spending a lot of his online time there. DudMatch has great layout for some good one-on-one and team deathmatch. Good lighting for each area. It has three small arenas, loads of big weapons, and BFG access provided you can get in and out of the trap. There is a weapon-pickup area very similar to what you would find in a Quake TF map. The spawns were especially reworked for deathmatch. There is good weapon balance, and has been playtested with zdoom over the internet as well as with Doom2. Click below to download.

The Mega-Wad of the Month for November/December is Metal Gear Solid for Doom2 by Damien Mychajlowskyj . This 11-level wad is based solely on the Metal Gear Solid game and is very well-done. The title music is the opening music of the actual MGS game. The single-player is awesome, with the difficulty level rising in intensity each successive level like it should. There are a few maps in here which would make for some great multi-level deathmatches. It has been playtested with zdoom so it should work ok with other similar ports. I like the use of lighting, and the creation of s items such as foot lockers and fixtures where needed in the levels. There are a couple of warehouses to frag in, which remind me of quake 2 levels. It has its own inter-music (music between levels). Try this wadfile out, make sure to spend some time in single-player to check out his new guards which he added. They are a little tougher than the average baddie, so look out. You will be able to tell that this wadauthor has put in quite an effort on this one, and its well worth the download.
